Accelerating the
shift to net zero

Proven next-generation battery technology roll-out

The goal

Eurocell is building a European gigafactory to supply world-leading production-ready batteries by 2023

01

Eurocell is the exclusive EMEA licence holder for the disruptive next-gen battery technology

02

Accelerating the shift to net zero in multi-billion-dollar commercial and domestic energy storage markets

03

Verified and proven technology developed by world-leading South Korean developers

04

Anglo-Korean JV partnership for EMEA rollout with unique support and knowledge transfer

05

Replicating Eurocell’s South Korean facilities and rolling out at scale in Europe

The technology

Eurocell delivers higher performance than conventional lithium-ion batteries

Safe

100% safe in the event of impact, penetration or shocks so no thermal runaway risk and no self-ignition

High power - IN

Eurocell’s ability to capture any input charge under any condition at a 10C rate makes it the ideal storage solution in combination with renewable energy

High power - OUT

Rapid discharge ability enables EV charging at ultra-fast speeds at a 10C rate, making Eurocell the ideal storage solution for domestic EV charging

Battery performance

Eurocell’s wide operating temperature range enables utilisation in most remote areas, with high performance levels in both hot and cold climates (-20 to +50 degrees celsius) – ideal for territories without a grid network

Ultra-long cycle life

Eurocell will outlive the majority of the systems it supports with a 25-year-plus lifespan, thereby providing a significant reduction in the ‘real’ investment metric USD$/kWh cycle and eradicating all ‘end of life’ concerns (ESG ready)

Last mile delivery trucks (3.5t ~ 7.5t)

Grid storage and balancing

Residential and distributed storage

Mobility (quick) charging stations

Auxiliary power

The gigafactory

An $800m investment across two phases

Opportunity

Anglo-Korean next-generation battery company Eurocell EMEA is set to build its first European Gigafactory producing proven, production-ready technologies by 2023 – far faster than many rivals.

As the final phase of a 15-year, $100m R&D programme, the Eurocell Gigafactory will supply Europe’s energy storage, automotive, e-mobility and consumer electronics industries.

The chosen Gigafactory location will create hundreds of direct jobs and many more indirect employment opportunities. It carries with it a strong ESG focus and a comprehensive knowledge transfer programme bringing vital skills from Korean battery experts and boosting the economy in a strategically crucial sector.
